DMA 234 - ANDROID 2.0 FINAL

This is my android design for a dinner & movie application

Image 1: Shows how the application would be used if the user selecting the Dinner option in the Menu.

How to operate application:

-Click G2G icon to launch application.

-Select Dinner under the "Dinner & Movie" tab.

-Select preferred cuisine. (or under menu button: make/view reservations, search or view previous favorite that you have saved.) Caribbean

-Select preferred Caribbean restaurant. Blue Mountain Bistro

-Read details about Blue Mountain Bistro, then select a date. (if the date you selected lands on another event that you had already set up, a dialog msg will pop up and alert you.) Select Go

-Click Get2gether to view all your events. Select GIRLS NIGHT OUT

-View details on event. User can view map, edit event and invite. Select Invite

-Invite people from your contact list (address book), facebook, or other friends that use the G2G app.

the concept:

This is my concept for my portfolio website. I want to keep it simple because the main focus for my site is to show my work. I like the overall look so far but I'm going to work more on the navigation.

DMA 500 - EROS "Tea & Coffee Garden"

Overview:

- For this project you will be creating a mockup website as well as some branding ideas for a potential client.

- This is a team effort, no more than two students per group.

- You will have to create a logo, select imagery and suggest some colours for their brand.

- Create a project folder structure that organizes all of your assets, images, logos, etc.

- You will e-mail a link to the client and host the image on your website.

Client Brief:

- The company name is “EROS”

- They want to market themselves as a “Tea and Coffee Garden”.

- This “start-up” company is looking to take a piece of the coffee shop industry.

- Their major competition is Starbucks and Second Cup, while their secondary competition is Tim Hortons, Second Cup,

Coffee Time and Timothy’s.

- They want to connect primarily with the 18-34 year old crowd.

- The shops are designed around a garden environment with lots of plants and flowers as well as busts of Roman

and Greek figures in their shops.

- They focus on organic, healthy and natural foods.

- A major seller is their custom tea blends, which have a very elaborate setup including stylish float tea cups, different sugars

and various types of honey and rose petals - they want a focus on this.

- They offer Wi-Fi, terminals that have access to the Internet and they subscribe to various magazine, newspaper publications, etc.

- The company’s branding and logo are incomplete, so they are open to colour options and would be happy to entertain a new logo.

- They want a “clean, crisp design like Telus or Apple” and they want it to look professional and modern.

DMA 234 - Android 2.0 - Dinner&Movie app (roughs)

Here's a concept of what I have so far. I plan to add a secondary colour and add a few more details.



Phone 1: Shows the launcher icon. Shows 2 concepts but I decided to go with the G2G icon.

Phone 2: Shows the tabs Dinner&Movie (tab is selected) and Get2gether. If selected Movie from the menu...

Phone 3: List of movies appear. If menu button is selected, it pops up the options: theatre, new releases, genres and buy tickets. If you click on a movie (Black Swan)...

Phone 4: Details about movie appears. At the bottom it shows "Watch On" where you can select a date to watch a movie by scrolling up and down the month, date and year. Click Go. In this case, a Dialog icon pops up explaining that you have already arranged a date on the same day.
-NTS: add time option.

Phone 5: If you select the Get2gether tab, it shows all your events that you have planned or is invited to. If you select "GIRLS NIGHT OUT!"...

Phone 6: (work in progress) will show who is invited to the event and details about the event.

Note: If clicked on the Dinner option, you will be able to choose from Restaurants, Food Preference, make Reservations or choose from your Favourites that were previously saved. You will also be able to choose a date. Then information will added to the Get2gether tab and matched with your Movie plans (if any) and have the option of inviting and editing the event.
