DMA 179 - MEGALODON TOOTH SCULPTURE PROCESS

MEGALODON pronounced /ˈmɛɡələdɒn/ MEG-ə-lə-don,
  • "big tooth" in Greek
  • biggest prehistoric shark
  • approximately 25 to 1.5 million years old
  • 20.3 metres (67 ft) in length and 103 metric tons
  • tooth size: 18 cm (7.1 in) in slant height
PROJET: Clay Megaldon tooth
  • Must be made to scale of a real Megaldon tooth
  • The model should show all details one would find with a real fossilized Megaldon tooth
  • Final model should be created with a ceramic-like modeling compound that can be harden in a standard home oven –super sculptey® is the suggested sculptured medium
  • It is strongly suggested that you may require the building of a wire armature and tinfoil base.
  • Must be painted so it resembles a real fossilized Megaldon tooth.
  • You will be required to photograph your product asset as the source model for this engagement.

Baked and redetailed.

Coated with primer and painted with acrylic. Left out the varnish to create a more natural look.
